This New Life-Affirming Apple Advert Is Surely Proof They Must Be Doing Something Really Evil

APPLE AD

By Jacqueline Bowerman

They must be hiding something to hit this level of *crying-emoji*.

Apple's new Christmas advert is really very sweet, and unlike most ads of this nature, manages to stay clear of the cheesy sappiness that we've seen in some recent holiday ads (Hey John Lewis).

As the storyline goes, a girl finds an old song that her grandmother had once recorded for her soldier husband Raymond. She then pulls out her guitar and uses her Mac to record a duet.

Her grandmother listens to the duet, and touched, she pulls out old photos of her husband, "My Darling Raymond, though you can't be here for the holidays, you'll always be here in my heart."

It's more than likely to bring a small tear to your eye.

And we sort of refuse to let a brand make us weep, so we're going to suggest this ad is a highly orchestrated cover for a yet undiscovered Apple Evil Plan, perhaps concerning the new iPad, snakes, long distance running and honey-badgers.
