Vine is dead. Long live Hype.
If you're anything like us, you're likely still mourning the death of Vine. The six-second video app fostered great internet talent over the years, and was a pioneer of its genre, trailblazing in the video-first revolution.
When Twitter announced that it would be taking Vine out of commission, the app's co-founder had this to say.
Don’t sell your company!— Rus (@rus) October 27, 2016
Little did we realize, Rus was mourning the death of Vine while preparing to push Hype--his newest app offering. Two of Vine's original founders have been working on Hype for the last year and, as Vine dies on its ass, Hype seemingly rises from the ashes.
While the app is still young, it looks to have the potential of an early Vine or Snapchat. It is packed with features, geared toward audience engagement, and ripe with opportunities for commercial endorsements.
Hype is now available in the Apple App Store with an Android version imminent.
