YouTube's Biggest Beauty Guru Is NYLON's Latest Cover Star
If you have a keen interest in beauty, then you've probably turned to YouTube once or twice in search of some inspiration and the chances you've stumbled across Michelle Phan's tutorials are almost certain. (This is, of course, unless you've been a loyal fan since the dawning of time, in which case... please ignore this sentence.)

She spent most of her childhood moving across the US to various different cities. Her father left when she was young and she had a controlling step-father.
I would walk down the hallway, and they would yell, 'Ching Chong, Ching Chong!' It made me insecure about my nationality and race. It was really hurtful ... Maybe the most inspiring thing to take out of the interview was that, despite all this hardship, she never ever gave up. And it paid off.
She was made a Brand Ambassador by Lancôme in 2009, she founded a subscription service called ipsy and launched a make up collection. She became an author and she also recently set up an online platform dedicated to beauty, lifestyle and entertainment. We wonder if the haters will be signing up to that one?!
