Finally! Someone said it.
Cara Delevingne was forced to defend herself earlier this week when an interview she did went horribly awry. Not only did the hosts of Good Day Sacramento call her by the wrong name ("Carla") but they slated her on air for appearing tired. Cara has been doing press for Paper Townsfor the last few weeks non-stop.
Right after the incident Cara tweeted this:
Some people just don't understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour— Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) July 29, 2015
and was backed by lots of supporters including Zach Braff and Boy George.
Among her defenders was John Green, author of the upcoming Paper Towns film which happens to star Cara.
Whoever said this! Thank you so much! pic.twitter.com/PyshC8DqNG— Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) July 30, 2015
@Caradelevingne That was me! <3— John Green (@johngreen) July 30, 2015
@johngreen thank you so much john!! I just read the article and it made me want to cry! You are so special!! I am so happy I know you x— Cara Delevingne (@Caradelevingne) July 30, 2015
Writing for medium, John authors an interesting piece on the situation, calling "the process of commodiyfing personhood inherently dehumanizing."
Well said, John!
