Petition for Dr. Dre to pay my rent.
If you wanted to start the day out with a feeling of envy bordering on genuine despair, news that Dr. Dre had the highest yearly income in the history of music should do the trick. Dr. Dre has reportedly cemented his place in music history by becoming the first musician to make anything even approaching 600 million in one year.
This year, Dr.Dre sold his hugely popular Beats brand to Apple for $3 billion dollars, which placed his yearly earnings so far ahead of second place earner Beyoncé that it would be the monetary equivalent of lapping her 5 times on a track. Dr. Dre took home $620 million this year ahead of Beyonce who took home $115 million and, inexplicably, The Eagles who earned $100 million.
Dre’s sale of Beats sent shockwaves of earnings throughout the celebrity community. LeBron James, who described his stake in the company as a "small stake" took home $30 million this year as a result of the sale. This is in addition to the $19 million he earned annually from playing with the Heat before returning to Cleveland.

And just in case you forgot about this (like I did), in 2011 Eminem and Dr. Dre did a video where Eminem rapped Dre back to life by telling him how much he meant to him and it is fantastic.
