And he met Taylor Swift? Dying on all levels rn!
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll have probably heard a few tracks from Troye Sivan's incredible debut album Blue Neighbourhood. Well, he just won his first MAJOR award for it and we're up in here acting like a proud mum.
On Sunday April 2, Troye accepted the award for 'Outstanding Music Artist' at the 27th GLAAD Media Awards in what is the most important win of his career so far. Hosted by Ross Matthews, “the GLAAD Media Awards recognise and honour media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives”.
I just won Outstanding Music Artist at the @glaad awards and could not be prouder. Thank you thank you thank you— Troye Sivan (@troyesivan) April 3, 2016
Obviously, it's not all about winning but Troye DID manage to beat Miley Cyrus to scoop the award and used the moment to discuss the importance of LGBTQ media representation. Troye has been a vocal figure in the LGBTQ community for the younger generation ever since he posted his coming out video.
As if that wasn't enough, he presented an award to Queen Latifah with Zendaya and also managed to snatch the best selfie of the year with Ruby Rose and Taylor Swift so he kind of won on every single level. Dying on his behalf tbh.
