All hands on deck, amiright?
It was a big moment last year when Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction, signed with new record label, RCA. On top of being a major label with loads of big names on its roster, RCA is home to one of r&b's rising stars, Tinashe. Tinashe has consistently wowed audiences in all areas since she arrived on the scene, but has had an, admittedly, bumpy road to her sophomore album.
Tinashe's second album, Joyride, has been fraught with leaks, lack of promotion and other circumstances that are tell-tale signs of a sophomore slump. Its release has been pushed back and Tinashe is, understandably, frustrated.
I hope tinashe doesn't release joyride on soundcloud...— Selina (@kuntykilos) February 11, 2016
RCA signed Zayn right around the time that Tinashe's album should have started taking shape and it seems that RCA artists are having to jostle for attention during this holiest of times: Zayn season.

Late last year, RCA's inaction forced Tinashe to leak her own single. In an interview with Spin, Tinashe admitted that her frustration with RCA led her to leak "Party Favors".
"I wasn’t supposed to put it out. But I knew if I didn’t just put something out, I ran the risk of continuing to push back my singles and my whole process."
Meanwhile Zayn's "Pillowtalk" is enjoying massive success ahead the release of his debut solo album. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like his success is earning him any points with his RCA label mates.
If Tinashe was hoping to get back on RCA's good side, the group chat revelation probably won't help her case much.
Here's to Joyride. May we eventually hear it.
