If you haven't been keeping track of all the drama around Little Mix's latest single 'Shout Out To My Ex' then guuurrrl you're in for a wild ride. Put your seat belt on bbz and we'll break down all the drama for yew.
Last week, Little Mix dropped their (banging) comeback single 'Shout Out To My Ex', which some people have described as a 'thinly veiled' dragging of Zayn Malik, Little Mix's Perrie Edward's ex boyfriend. Personally speaking, we prefer the description 'public flogging'.
Anyway, that wasn't even the half of it. Almost as soon as the song hit the internet and smacked Malik round the chops, people started calling out the track for it's similarities to 'Ugly Heart', the 'hit' single by rival girlband G.R.L. They even popped up on Twitter to send a shady AF tweet about it.
Ooooh, you nasty.
Well Little Mix weren't going to take this sh*t lying down, were they? When asked about the accusations of "copying" during a radio interview in Belgium, Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall started by answering the question fairly diplomatically. "Every song is going to have a similar chord sequence, slightly similar lyrics and melodies", she reasoned. "It happens all the time. It doesn’t mean that they’re not both incredible songs."
She then added: "I think maybe because it was a girl band as well. I just think people like to have something negative to say."
But the ultimate blow came from Jesy Nelson. After Perrie Edwards said that, "I just think, stop trying to hop on the bandwagon, Jesy comes in with the killer line, "Stop trying to get publicity!"
