Because something needed to be done with this terrible artwork.
Early in the morning on 31 July 2015 our world was shaken and things were never to be the same again.
One Direction did a 'semi-Beyoncé', dropping their first single as a four-piece on to streaming platforms and iTunes with no hoohaa or trumpets. Our lives were changed forever. We questioned ourselves and everything we held dear and came to the conclusion, the right conclusion, that "Drag Me Down" was 1D's best lead single since their birth five years ago.
However, there was a niggling feeling in the back of our minds. We had already sat angst ridden at the lack of Zayn (#RIPZayn) on the track so we knew it wasn't that. And then it hit us; for a 9/10 song, why was the artwork such a jumbling pile of poo?
We know that 1D have a penchant for moody press pics and album covers, but this pound shop/dime store madness has left us feeling empty. How could such a thing happen?
So, in the hunt to find a use for the "Drag Me Down" artwork, we contacted our crack team of scientists at the PopBuzz labs and they've been hard at work coming up with this...
