Do NOT mess with Taylor Swift when she is on a roll.
If you're Taylor Swift, you're probably feeling really good about yourself right about now. The highly respected musician proved her influence yet again over the weekend in more ways than one.
In a post published on her tumblr, Taylor penned a heartfelt letter to Apple entitled "To Apple, Love Taylor". Taylor disagrees with the company's proposed pay model which would leave many artists out of pocket during a three month trial period for users.
After mounting pressure and criticism for declining to add her latest album to Apple's new streaming service, Taylor addressed fans and the company directly.
These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call.Taylor Swift
Taylor acknowledged that Apple had been a historically progressive and generous company, but called Apple Music "shocking and disappointing".
Well, Apple heard Taylor's rally cry and responded accordingly.

We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple— Eddy Cue (@cue) June 22, 2015
This is an amazing win for Taylor and illustrates just how powerful a few hundred words from the pop star really can be.
Elsewhere in Taylor's crosshairs, a supremely sexist OK! Magazine story had Taylor fuming.
OK! Magazine ran a story about Taylor Swift helping a couple announce their pregnancy but promoted it with a tweet that read "Singer @taylorswift13 has made a 'pregnancy announcement'!"
The article also referred to Taylor as Harry Styles' ex (yuck) and Calvin Harris' rumoured girlfriend. So, to recap, OK! Magazine didn't think people would know who Taylor Swift was, so they qualified her existence by referring to her as the ex girlfriend of two far less successful musicians.
The absurdity of it all.
Well, Taylor clapped back.
This comes after Ariana Grande penned a powerful essay on possession and women in the media. We're kind of obsessed with female stars standing up for themselves in the media and want to see 300% more of this happening.
