Ever wanted to be in a TLC photoshoot? With $7,500 towards their new album, now you can.
In case you're like us and fell out of the TLC fandom in the early 2000s, you might be interested to know that they're BACK - to produce their final album. And the R&B group are calling on fans to contribute to the project with a Kickstarter campaign.
The two surviving members of the group, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, are assembling some of their old production team and are looking for a $150,000 budget to complete their as-yet untitled fifth and final album.
"While major labels offer artists multimillion dollar recording and marketing budgets, they don't often give artists complete control of their own music," admit the group in the pitch. "It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU."
Pledges start from $5 (which will get you a vote in the album's remixes), and go right up to $7,500, which gets you in on a photoshoot with the group. One of those has already been claimed, though, so get in there fast if you have seven and a half grand to spare.
The tiers between the top and bottom also include vinyls, video dance tutorials, trips to the movies and even a slumber party, so there's something for literally every kind of TLC fan.
TLC have been active for nearly 25 years, reaching worldwide commercial success and five Grammys with their first three albums.
The TLC trio became two when Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes was killed in a car accident in 2002, and TLC acknowledge in their pitch that this project will be their first since her death.
"This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us. Of course, Lisa's spirit will always be present in our music. That will never change. "
The campaign has a month left to go, and the girls are already over a third of the way there with almost $53,000 pledged. You can help them out and get some more TLC in your life by contributing here.
